Help raise funds for mitochondrial disease

25 Jul 2018 by Grum

Alex Higgins, one of the Brumbies Senior players, is participating in The Bloody Long Walk to raise funds to help people with mitochondrial disease. Please see message from Alex below and sponsor him if you can:

I’m walking 35 kilometres in The Bloody Long walk. That’s 46,200 steps in one day!

I know I will cross the finish line exhausted and blistered, but that’s nothing compared to what people with mitochondrial disease (Mito) go through every day.

My girlfriend’s cousin, Charlie, who is 9 years old is afflicted by the terrible disease but I can tell you that doesn’t stop him from living life smiling, laughing and being a down right lad. I will be taking part in the walk on 19th of August along with my girlfriends family and friends to raise money to help find a cure to kick mito in the butt.

If you can spare even $5 to support this cause it would be much appreciated!
